Manual Court Assignment

By default, Quke requires tournament directors to list available courts for each event. This enables automatic court assignments so players always know where and against whom they’re playing. However, experienced tournament directors have the option for manual court management.

How It Works

• Tournament directors must select available courts for each event
• Quke automatically assigns courts to each match
• Players can easily see their court assignments and opponents
• Required courts are calculated to allow all matches in a round to happen simultaneously

Manual Court Assignment

Note: This feature is recommended for experienced tournament directors only. The default automatic assignment ensures tournaments progress predictably according to Quke’s tournament calculator.

Enabling the Feature

When creating an event:

• Look for the “manually assign courts” checkbox
• Checking this box creates matches without pre-assigned courts
• Gives tournament directors complete control over court management

Benefits

Manual court assignment offers several advantages:

• Flexibility: Optimize court usage based on your experience
• Control: Assign courts on the fly as they become available
• Efficiency: Potentially run more matches with fewer courts

Using Manual Assignment

Tournament directors have two options:

1. Manual Assignment

   • Use the three dots menu at each match
   • Select a court for the match
   • Update assignments as needed

2. Open Court System

   • Let players find available courts
   • No formal court assignments needed
   • Results can still be recorded normally

Important Considerations

When using manual court assignment:

• Tournament calculator time estimates may not be accurate
• You’ll need to manage court availability yourself
• Results can be entered regardless of court assignment status
